This continuing education class delves into the intricate relationship between sexually transmitted infections (STIs/STDs) and mental health, providing therapists with valuable insights to enhance their practice. Led by experienced therapists specializing in sexual health and mental well-being, this program offers a holistic perspective on how STIs/STDs can impact individuals' psychological and emotional states.

Participants will explore the psychological ramifications of receiving an STI/STD diagnosis, including stigma, shame, anxiety, and depression. Through case studies and interactive discussions, therapists will learn effective strategies for supporting clients coping with the emotional aftermath of diagnosis, fostering resilience, and promoting self-compassion.

Additionally, this course will address the reciprocal relationship between mental health and sexual health, emphasizing the importance of addressing both aspects concurrently in therapy. Therapists will gain practical tools for integrating discussions of sexual health into their practice, destigmatizing conversations around STIs/STDs, and providing comprehensive care to clients.
